Radio Shack Credit Card - Citi Cards ripoff dishonest credit reporitng, mishansdling of credit information Ft. Worth Texas
I sent the following letter to Radio Shack/ Citi Cards detailing my dispute with their customer service and credit practices.
It was sent 04/29/2005 registered maile with a delivery confirmation # 0304 1560 0007 2422 0798. I confirmed via usps.com it was recieved a few days later. I have not recieved any response from them.
Here is what I sent to them:
" To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in regards to a small error on my credit report which has now become a damaging financial burden. I had an active Radio Shack credit card with the date of last transaction being roughly late December 2000. In December of 2000 I moved to Carlsbad California.
In late December I made a purchase of a satellite dish from the Radio Shack in the Carlsbad Mall. At the time of this purchase I informed Radio Shack of my change of Address from Glendale California to Carlsbad California. I even had radio shack schedule an installation appointment for me at my new address to install the dish I had purchased.
When the technician came to my condo to install the dish it was determined that it was not allowed by my Homeowners Association. I returned the dish in December of 2000. When I returned the dish the store was very crowded due to the holiday rush and the salesperson had considerable difficulty handling my return transaction. I instructed the sales associate that I wished to return the item and pay my entire Radio Shack balance off.
Upon completion of the transaction (a process which took upwards of thirty minutes) I was under the impression that my balance had been paid in full. After December 2000 I never received another statement on my Radio Shack Card. I did not find this peculiar as I figured it was standard practice not to send a bill out if the card has a $0.00 balance.
The crux of this letter is that I had the means and the intention to pay this debt on that day in December of 2000 when I went to the Radio Shack. I have made numerous requests via e-mail, regular mail, telephone, and now registered mail to resolve this matter. All of my requests to remedy this error have gone either unanswered or have been brushed aside with a we can't help you mentality.
I wish to pay this bill as I intended to do in December of 2000 and to have my credit reporting amended. If this matter is not resolved to my satisfaction within the next thirty business days I will pursue the following avenues:
File an online summary of my complaint with consumer watchdog websites.
File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Notify the FTC of the unfair credit reporting practices that I have encountered.
File a small claims action to have this matter resolved in a court of law."
