Ramada Plaza Resorts Vacation Pkg. Ripoff Artists tried to con me twice Once by phone, then followed up with a ripoff solicitation by mail Kissimmee Florida
My husband and I recieved a call from this company as their follow up to a drawing that they had held at our local fair last September. The offer sounded good initially, but as the moments drug on my husband and I got that familiar warning feeling in the pits of our stomach. My husband heeded his gut reaction and hung up the phone. The company con man had asked me to copy down all the information that he was telling me so I continued with the phone call despite my misgivings.
Earlier in the call I had asked if people were selected by credit rating status. He had told me "No, but that the overall area around here was more upscale and successful than what was average and the general area was considered a good risk."
This sounded like a good deal-almost too good to be true-but not quite. I had did quite a bit of searching on the internet prior to this call and knew that it was not "the best of the best"
After approximately 40-50 wasted minutes on the phone, I told the sales/con representative that we definitely were not interedted and incase he didn't notice, my husband had terminated his portion of the phone call 15 minutes ago.
I then went on to tell the phone solicitor that his company should know that if an area appears to be more affluent than others, it is probably because it's population is more educated than others. People in this area do not tend to fall for almost too good to be true phone solicitations. End of call.
Months later we recieved a mailing from this same company with what appeared to be an even better offer. I toyed with the idea of checking it out, but decided to check the internet first. Thanks to the letters from all of you on this web site, I quickly changed my mind and did not need to waste my time with one of their sales people. (Though I have put time and thought into this).
I consider myself to be very fortunate to have escaped their devious schemes twice-and I have to thank all of you for my 2nd escape. Two close calls were two to many!!!!
