Toronto,#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Tue, November 16, 2004
I used to work for Imeperial Majesty Cruise Vacations, I would just like to appoligize to anyone I called regarding this awful vacation package. I worked at the call center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and called many people in Ireland and South Africa. I would just like to tell you that Imperial Majesty is very misleading in calling it's representitives "Promotions Directors" as many of the workers are only teenagers with summer jobs, as with the case of myself. I am actually only 19 years old. I was not aware at the time when I was working there that we were misleading and intimidating customers, and I feel very bad about that now, and that is why I quit. The managers of the call center make the workers believe that the customers have requested the information and would like the vacation, but I became very suspicious when people began telling me that they never requested anything. I was unaware at the time that the vacation package is simply a ploy to make people take part in a time share. Also, in order to cover their trail they fire many people very often. They told the workers that we were playing a part and that we could be anyone on the phone. There was so much pressure to make sales, and they wanted at least 4 from each of us every week. If we went a week without sales, we would be fired, and many of us were desperate for jobs. Also, the vacation package is real, but you would not be receiving any great deal. Just look at the complaints on this site. I would also like to tell you something in strict confidence that you will not reveal my name or email address on the internet or otherwise regarding this as it may endanger my life. This company has connections with the American Italian Mob, and that is how they keep in business and maintain merchant accounts with credit card companies. The comany ower (Jim Varillo) is a horrible man who drives expensive cars, wears expensive clothes, and deny's requests for refunds on the vacation package. Please tell any friends and family members never to take part in the survey when they first call, and never take the vacation package. I simply worked there trying to earn money for university and was unaware of the evil that was just below the surface. If I had known what they were like or involved in, I would never had worked there. The managers intimidated the workers into making sales. They would tell us that we would lose our job if we did not make enough sales during the week. They would scream and yell at us and tell us that it was our fault if people did not want the vacation package. Please never take the vacation package... if people stop falling for it, the business will go under...
