On November 10th 2009 i made te stupid decision to purchase an RCA L40 LCD tv from Wal-mart. Upon set up, i realized that there wasn't a remote in the box. I immediately went back to the store to get a replacement remote. The service rep gave me the remote and I took it home to finish my set up. To my suprise, the remote didn't work. Assuming that it was the remote, I went to Radio shak to purchase a universal remote. This didn't work either. I then had cable set up in my house and the cable guy couldn't set the TV to the cable remote, and suggested that the problem was due to the sensor not reading properly. 

I contacted RCA support, on November 17, after exhausting my other options to fix my TV. The support staff requested I fax my bill of sale, and gave me a support number to call after the fax was sent. The service number never picks up the phone. This is after 20- 30 minutes of hold time per call. I call the previous number back and they insist that a level 2 tech will contact me within 24- 48 hours. This was two months ago. It is now January 15 2010, and still no contact, no service, not even a post card. the only calls that are made are the follow up calls that come from my phone. All im asking is for the ability to control my tv from the remote like it was designed, or for the company to give me my money back so that i can purchase a TV that is worth my time. Bottom line, I will never purchase an RCA product again, and based on the level of service and customer care, I would suggest the same to all of those expecting to get what they pay for.
