I emailed my resume and cover letter to the email address above in response to a job ad placed on www.craigslist.com for an Account Recievable Clerk (spelled WRONG). I received an email reply from [email protected] with the following content:

to the company once you are hired.
Our payment collection operation on outside sales will be handled by you, so can save enough time to process more sales.
You must be trustworthy and reliable with good communication skills, not afraid to request payment in order to receive payment as account receivables collector.
Duties Include:
Receive payments from customers
Cash them at any Cash Exchange Store/outlet.
Deduct $500 which will be your weekly payment.
Forward balance after deduction to our offices you will be contacted to send payment to.

As you can see this is CLEARLY a scam as I have sent them my resume and most of the information they requested was contained in the resume. Also...I don't like the idea of picking up "payments" from "Clients" and cashing them, then deducting my "fee". It sounds fishy. So I "googled" the company and found NO WEBSITE...no mention of this company other than job announcements on websites such as indeed.com and yahoo hotjobs. If this company was a major company in New York there would be SOMETHING that I could find...no contact numbers....NOTHING. Except the fax number found at the bottom of the email that was sent. This number is a Washington state phone number. I called it and a recording instructs the caller to send the fax now or leave a message at the tone. I replied back to the email saying: THIS IS CLEARLY A SCAM. I AM REPORTING THIS TO THE IRS.
Just thought you all should know....this is also posted in the pittsburg cragislist under the same job title.

The information about Reiss Whiolesale Hardware was lifted from our website. We at Reiss Wholesale Hardware have nothing to do with this scam.
