I needed a pretty high end computer for some work I was doing on the side and Ineeded it quickly. Not having enough money on hand to buy one I decided to rent one and I found a place online called Rent My Computer Now which looked great.
I found the computer I wanted and put my application in. The application required a $50 non refundable fee for processing. I was leary about that but singed up anyway. That was on Monday.
I heard back from them on Tuesdday saying I had some more papers to sign. No big deal. I sent the papers back in and got a message back saying in would take 1 business day to process and let me know if I was approved. Again, no big deal. Well that's when the nightmare began.
I did not hear from them on Wednesday but on Thursday I got an email saying that I had been refeunded my $50? No other explination. I thought I had been denied. I emailed them and asked and they said no I had not been denied but in fact had been approved! But they also said they were having server problems. I tried emailing and calling all day but the phone calls went to voice mail and the website itself was down all day. So I had no way to contact them.
At that point I became supsiciaous and decided to take my businees elsewhere.
On Friiday morning I did get one of my emails asnwered saying I was approved and I would get my tracking number for the computer shipment by the end of the day. So I waited, and waited, and waited. I called them at just after after 5pm EST and someone picked up, and then hung up the phone. Called again and the same thing happended. I emailed and got no answer.
At around 11pm on Saturday I got an emailed congratulating me on my approval, but not telling me anything had been shipped.
I was done with them and had already ordred from the other company, who did all they said they would.
On Sunday I sent an email to Rent My Computer Now asking for my $50 back bercause I felt they did deliver on the promise to approve me within 1 business day. I knew it was a longshot but I felt a bit cheated and had to ask.
What really got me was that when I checked my Credit Card account I found that they had charged to the $50 fee twice! I have asked for this refend via email and never recived a response. I have call numoerous times and the owner is nver in and the receptionist has no autority and does not know what's going on.
It's a one man operation and I think he is making a living, $50 at a time.
