We purchased a timeshare with Royal Sunset in Cancun primarily because of the option to rent out our weeks. They made it sound like it would be pretty much paying for itself. We purchased 1 week biannually with 2 optional VIP weeks. We released those VIP weeks to rent out and paid for that service.

We were supposed to easily rent each week of our 2 bedroom suite for $1700 over what the maintenance fee was. That was in January of 2005. Now, 4 years later we have never--I repeat NEVER--received a call from them to rent our weeks or anything else. I have called them many times and received many excuses and promises.

I'm not only out the $500 we spent for this service, but the $5,100 we spent on the timeshare that we would not have otherwise purchased. Two weeks per year at $1700 for 4 years that we were quoted comes to $13,600.

At this point I think our only alternative is a class action suite against them. I know that other people have been burned by these people. We need to band together to get what we were promised and keep others from being ripped off in the future. If you are interested, you can contact me at (((redacted))).

Resorts International Marketing Group & Royal Elite Timeshare Scam

We listed our Royal Elite timeshare with Resorts International Marketing Groups in August of 2012. They were very friendly, persistent, and eager to give us great information regarding how quickly our week would sell. As you can see, it's been over a year and we've NEVER received a phone call regarding our listing. We've reduced the asking price several times and each time we did, it took more than 2 phone calls to get the price correct on the website. This company could care less about you once you give them your $600. I advise against anyone using them to "sell" your timeshare. If only we could get back the money we so willingly, so foolishly gave them...
