Resorts International Marketing SCAM FRAUD DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Pompano Beach Florida
We were buying a timeshare in Cabo San Lucas and wanted to sell our other unit in order to help pay for this new one, when our sales rep advised us to use Resorts International Marketing Corp as the broker to sell our other unit. She called 'someone' who said that they could sell our unit within 6 months for a certain price, or sooner for a lower price. We were fine with the 6 months, so we agreed on that.
They took our $600 up front and would send the contract and other 'free' things (trip to Thailand, cruise, etc) to us. It is almost 1 year later and we still have not received or signed a correct contract (they kept getting the info incorrect), or the other things promised. I've since called about 5 or 6 times to follow up, getting no valid information from them as to when they expect to have it sold and then they tell me that they will not adhere to their promise of selling within 6 months. I've requested a refund and they tell us they will not refund our money.
I understand if they say that they cannot promise something like this, but then don't tell the customer that you can and will in order to take their money for that.
I've sinced written them for a refund, and they still refuse. I've also filed a complaint with the BBB, but they came back and said that they had no information on them. Calling them is a joke as well, as I sat on hold today for 40 minutes! waiting to speak to a cs rep who I had to go through a different dept for because they aren't normally taking calls. Why the avoidance?
So, before you use this company, I seriously would look into their business and contract before giving them a dime. I personally believe that they are a fraud and the whole thing is a scam.
I would LOVE if anyone else has had this same problem can let me know how it was resolved or what they were able to do. At this point, we are out our sale and initial money.
