When you barrow money and agree to pay that money back by a certin date you should do everything in your power to stand by your word especially when it is going on your credit bureau report. And when you chrage things on your credit card you are doing just that, you are barrowing money. I understand that you did not recieve your statement. However, in the feature you should keep track of when your statements arive in the mail. And if it is a week past the expected date of ariveal you should probably check the status of your statement. I know you said that you did not have the number, in that case you knew that you had a payment due so you should have gone into the store at that time to make your payment. Another thing, you should NEVER cut up your cards because you never know when you might need them, for instance if you don't receive your statement. If you lack self control as far as charging up credit cards don't carry them with you, put them in a shoe box and hide them at bottom of your closet but don't cut them up. And one last thing you should never hang up on someone. You have to remember that it was YOU that barrowed the money. It was YOU that did not make the payment on time. And it was YOU that chose not to make the payment over the phone. By the way making the payment over the phone is an excellent way to make the payment quickly. Not only will it prevent you from being late it will probably help keep your credit in good standing as well especially if your due date is soon. and it is a lot eaiser then mailing in your check.
