Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I purchased an extended warranty policy through my credit union, when I purchased my vehicle. I had attempted to use the warranty insurance once, shortly after purchasing the vehicle and the dealership would not accept it. So, I thought I would try to use it at another place in the future, should anything happen.

Several months later, I attempted to use the insurance again and the repair company would not accept it their either. I had went to several other places and called other places to see if I could use it to have them make the repair and all of the shops would not accept it.

I decided to go ahead and cancel the plan, as it was useless to me. Instead of obtaining a full refund, I received a partial refund, prorated for the time I had it. I explained to Route 66 that the policy was uselss and had always been useless and asked why they were only providing a partial refund since it took awhile to find out it was completely uselsss. It's almost like they hope you never find out it is useless, but once you do find out, they want to prorate it. I explained to them that what they were doing was bad business practice, but they advised I would have to write a letter to the board. At this time, I am writing a letter to the board and I will update this post to keep you informed.

I do not like the fact I am being financially punished for only now finding out that I could have never used the policy. I highly recommend you stear clear of any third party warranties or insurance gimmicks. I found this company's policy to be absolutely, 100% a waste of money.

How to get a repair paid for when shop doesn't want to accept this warranty.

when a shop doesn't want to accept this warranty. Heres what I did.

I have had this warranty and loved it. I moved to another state and ran into the same problem of two shops, one was a dealerdhip, not wanting to accept route 66 warranty because they had never heard of it. Just tell them to make the repair and if there is any problem you will pay for it out of pocket and give your paper work from the warranty with the phone number and your member number. Tell them to just call and watch them get a surprise when route 66 pays them immediatley with their company credit card.

That was my experience everytime I filed a claim too, they had not heard of route 66 but after they got paid right away the shops never hesitated again to accept my warranty. They always said that was the best warranty they had ever seen besides the factory warranty. Just use some common sense. They dont pay for belts, hoses, or fluids. Keep up the maintence on your vehicle according to your owners manual and you have no problems with route 66. This is my personal experience with the Arkansas company. I will buy the warranty again.
