We are under contract with Ryland to build our dream home but my husband has received a job transer.

They are unfair in their practices. They are making us sell it ourselves but won't help with their required documentation or anything. They will not reissue a new contract. They are making us close and the sell causing thousands of dollars in closing costs driving the cost of the home over market value or making us lose lots of money.

Here is an exerpt of the certified letter I sent them.

"It seems to me that Ryland has nothing but malicious intent to make us fail at selling this house so that it may keep our deposit, and then turn around and sell it at the current increased market value, for an enormous windfall to Ryland. I also believe it to be malicious intent to make us sell the house ourselves. I understand policy is policy, but in our unique situation, why wouldn't Ryland sign a new contract if a qualified purchaser were brought to you? By making us close on the house with you, and then find a new buyer, it would cost us more than $30,000 in unnecessary expenses and closing costs."

They will not return calls or answer this letter.

It sounds like ryland homes is jerking you around. You ought to retain a real estate attorney. A REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY. If it's gonna cost you $30k in expenses, to sell your house, he just might be able to work out deal between you and ryland. Give it a try.
