I rented a vehicle from Sabans Rent A Car when I recently moved to Phoenix, AZ, for 1 month with a supposed super low rate of $599 per month for a full sized sedan. I was told on the phone that the car would be no older than 3years old and it would probably be a ford taurus.

Seeing as how the rate was supposedly a lot cheaper than the other rental companies, (reputable companies I should add), I decided to take a chance on Sabans too good to be true rate and car selection. When I arrived on the lot to rent the full sized sedan I was promised I found 2 newer Impalas 99's, which are classified as full sized sedans at reputable car rental companies like Avis.

When I walked in and talked to the agent I found out that those were luxury vehicles and the full sized 3 year old Taurus was an 8 year old junker with shiny fake hubcaps, mirrors that didnt work, an interior that wreaked of cigarette smoke, had torn fabric all over. The vehicle was in terrible need of an alingment, it pulled to the right so much you literlly had to make a left turn to drive in a straight line and a slipping transmission that leaked profusely.

I mentioned this to the agent and he said I could choose from one of 3 of these vehicles. He told me I could take that vehicle and he would call me the next day when a suitable one came in. He also asked if I would like to add an additional driver and I said no but he said since I was married, my wife was there with me I had to. After keeping this wreck on wheels for 2 weeks with no return calls from him I returned the vehicle expecting to get $350 back.

Thats when I found that they had charged my credit card twice once 2 days after I rented the car and again about a week later when I was told that I would only be charged after the retal was over. They also showed me the fine print on the contract which stated that even if you return a car 2 weeks early you would still be responsible for a full month of chrages!!

Hows that for bad business!! In addition they charged me $50 for adding my wife as an additional driver even though she had her own car and never drove the ragady rental. To make a long story short Sabans Rent A Car is the biggest ripoff in Phoenix, Arizona with horrible representatives that prey on both the misinformed and the poverty stricken citizens who make the mistake of renting from them.

There are countless complaints registered with the Attorney General and when I called to register my complaint against the company I was told that they were currently under state and federal investigation for visa fraud and renting unsafe vehicles to patrons. I hope they nail there hides to the wall and you can bet I'll be there to testify!!

According to this customer's letter, he had an opportunity to look at the vehicles available and make his own decision about the rental. We offer newer and used vehicles. Newer vehicles are naturally more expensive than the used vehicles. As Keith stated, he was offered both. He made the decision about what car he wanted and how he was going to pay for it. Yes, we charged his credit card. All rental car companies do. No one is going to release a car worth thousands of dollars without some sort of deposit.

Saban Rent a Car has been in business for 40 years renting new and used cars, trucks, vans and SUV's. Rental rates vary depending on the size of the vehicle and the year model. Mr. Nelson ("Keith") chose a vehicle in the price range he wanted. He signed a contract to rent the vehicle at a discounted monthly-rate. The weekly rate would have been higher for a two-week period. He returned the vehicle early after he got a call from our collection department. He refused the pay the balance of the rental charge that was due on the car. When Mr. Nelson returned the car, he impeded our business by bothering customers who were trying to rent a car. He extorted our counter agent by threatening to write negative reports about our company all over the internet. Obviously he is following through on his threats. Mr. Nelson's claims regarding state and federal investigations are completey unfounded and clearly intended to defame our business. To date, Mr. Nelson still has not paid his bill.
