Sallie Mae refusal to fix inaccurate credit reporting Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania
In March of 2003 I refinanced my student loan away from Sallie Mae and to Direct Loans.
In August of 2003 I realized that not only was Sallie Mae not reporting this loan as paid in full, but they were reporting it 90 days late in 4/2003 and 120 days late in 5/2003.. AFTER the loan was paid in full.
When I called Sallie Mae, they saw the mistake and said it would be fixed immediately.
That was almost 3 years ago and the errors are STILL on my report. Trans Union says that they are reporting it the way that Sallie Mae tells them too.. Sallie Mae says that they told Trans Union to fix the errors and Trans Union is the one at fault.
I have at least 10 letters and complaints. I even filed disputes with the Federal Trade commission.
All to no avail. This inaccurate credit reporting has made it so that my daughter was denied a student loan for college because they said that her co-signer (me) was not credit worthy because of past delinquent student loan payments!!
How can I make a payment on an account that has been paid in full? How can I be 120 days late on a balance that is $0?
Where is the FCRA ??
Sallie Mae and Trans Union must be sued!
