Schneider National Training - BEWARE!!! BAD TRAINING, BAD FOOD, Lizard mattresses!!! Green Bay, Wisconsin
Man oh man, what a horrible experience. So I live in backwater PA. No jobs, nothing to do. One day I meat this chick and she tells me I should become a truck driver. So I say ok, but how so I do that. She says call Schneider and they'll put you through school. Ok...so I call Schneider and tell them I need to go through school. They ask if I have a license and is it in good standing. I say no. They say I got to get a license first. So I get a license. Then it is time for school. My mom paid $200 for a bus ticket to get me out to their crappy school. They put me up in a crappy hotel. The school was 3 weeks. The first week was all classroom and it was crappy as heck. The class room instructor was drunk all the time and only had one leg. I asked him if he lost his leg in Nam and he smacked me. I almost quit then and there. The third night I woke up in the middle of the night to find that my mattress at that crappy hotel had slowly started turning into a lizard and was gnawing at my leg! I was like GOSH DANG what is going on here. The next day I told the school what had happened and they told me I had to do another drug test. well I passed...duh! Anyway, the food was horrible. It was free...but I wouldn't feed it to my dog.
Week one went by then it was time to move to the trucks. Man, all their trucks were in horribe shape. The fit and finish of the interior was terrible. There were no soft tough materials, interior panels were falling off and, the headlights didn't work, and one of the shifters broke off in my hand when I was backing. Ugh...it made it so hard to learn. My first day of the street my tailer broke off from the rig driving through traffic. It caused a 5 car pile up. That pissed the cops off and they kicked me out of school. Then I gotta get home. Schneider wouldn't pay for my trip home so I had to sell plasma in order to get enough to buy a bus ticket back to PA.
About a week after I got home I get a letter in the mail. It was a bill from Schneider for $48,436 for my 1.5 weeks of training. I was like WHAT???
Total scam! I got no job, no CDLs, no career...but I do owe them twice what my mom's trailer is worth!

Erik S. --you made my day. I can barely stop laughing long enough to type.
You must be something else. The first week your drunk one-legged teacher smacked you, and although that would have been enough for most of us to quit the class, GOSH DANG you kept plugging along! You perservered over man-eating matresses long enough to cause a 5-car pile up. What an adverture!
Seriously though, normally these fake reports (and come-on, we all know this is fake) make me mad. But, this time I love it. Like I said you made my day.

Really? The mattress turned into a lizard gnawing on your leg? If drugs or alcohol are not involved, you should tell your doctor about this.
I have to say it, Thank You Schneider! I sure would hate the rig to turn into a lizard gnawing on your leg when you are going 70 miles an hour.
