I purchased a Kenmore Elite Cooktop Model #79045213410 Serial #3F53203963 ON 03/15/17, from Discount Appliance in Tucker, GA. (770) 414-9394 it was installed on or about 03/21/17. On 04/15/17 evening my wife was cooking dinner for Easter Sunday the following day, we both were in the living room when we heard a loud pop coming from the kitchen, we both went in there to inquire what was going on. There was nothing on the floor or anywhere because we thought something had fell off the counter or something, I lift up the pot that was cooking on the cooktop and discovered the Ceramic Glass Surface had burst while doing what it's designed to do, COOK. Knowing that the store where I made my purchase was closed at that time in the evening 9:00 PM so I just left a message to let them know that I will be calling back first thing Monday morning 04/17/17. The Owner of Discount Appliance Mr. Bobby first gave me the run a round, two days later he tells me to call Sears because the item is still under warranty. I contacted Sears and they sent out a service tech on 04/21/17 and on 04/25/17 and both times Sears denied the warranty claim, stating it was not a warranty claim but it was negligence on my part. I visited Sears website and discovered a large number of complaints with their products and their poor handling of their clients.
