I would like to state that buying a Poodle puppy across country, sight unseen, is a totally different experience than going to a local breeder and picking out a puppy. Honesty and integrity are of the utmost importance to me.
I recently purchased a beautiful, healthy, sound Poodle, just that way, from Patti Sherfy of Sherfame Ranch. My vet confirmed her to be in excellent health and a beautiful specimen of the breed.
I can not tell you how many times I am stopped on the street by strangers who want to tell me how beautiful my dog is.
Thanks again Patti.

My name is Linda, I live in Central California. I have a background in real estate sales and rentals. I am writing to summarize my experience with Patti Sherfy. I consider myself a life long animal lover, and especially enjoy the extreme beauty of a very well bred animal.
I had raised toy and miniature poodles for years. I had the opportunity to get to know Vickie Dobbs, the breeder of one of the first Toy Red AKC Champion Stud, Spinnerin's Burgundy Rebel. I purchased several poodles from Vickie, including a beautiful, sound Red male from her Champion. I own and ride purebred arabian horses from famous show and endurance lines.
Several years ago, I moved back back into the house that I was raised and was then able to again begin one of my favorite passions, to raise beautiful poodles. I searched, in a effort to find the best breeding stock I could find. My search led me to Patti Sherfy.
Upon talking with Patti, I found her to be a straight shooter, she doesn't pull her punches. A business woman. She asked me alot of questions, I believe to basically "size me up" to see if I would be a responsible breeder. I have no doubt, that if she felt like I would not be a responsible breeder, that she would not have sold me one of her dogs. I consider myself a good judge of character, as I have been a successful landlord for years. I knew immediately when I was speaking with Patti that she is a lady with alot of knowledge and experience in breeding, correct, sound, poodles.
My instincts were to trust her to choose for me 2 male and 2 female foundation dogs. She sent me the perfect dogs, sound, correct, beautiful poodles! Since then I have purchased 2 more breeding dogs from Patti, and I couldn't be more pleased. The breeding stock have vet checked perfect, my puppies pass their vet checks routinely and the new owners of my puppies couldn't be happier with their beautiful babies!
Over these few years I have developed a deep admiration for Patti. She is a good, honest, straight forward person. She has been a Mentor to me, so generous with sharing the knowledge that she has gained over so many years of breeding and showing. She has shared invaluable tips that have helped me, just one is how to save extra tiny newborns. She truly cares about the poodle breed. I owe her a debt of gratitude.

I discovered this letter today about Sherfame Ranch and felt compelled to rebute this information because it makes no sense. I have never met Patti Sherfy in person but know her as an honest helpful breeder that goes above and beyond to help anyone interested in becoming an ethical breeder of poodles. She geneticalluy tests all of her stock and fully guarantees her dogs.
I have purchased three puppies from her and one adult champion. I first spoke with Patti in 2005 and we have had a very rewarding relationship since that time. Two of the puppies I purchased are Champions now and are OFA certified and there patellas are good. The third is also OFA certified. Two are out of the sire this woman speaks of.
I know for a fact that Patti will replace the puppy this woman is talking about. All good breeders stand behind there dogs. What this woman needs to do is to contact Patti and ask her to pay for shipping to have the dog returned. After all if this dog is bad she would not want to keep it since she would never breed it. Patti in fact will send her a replacement puppy as soon as one is available. Patti will send her the dog that she requests and that is why you have to wait to get a replacement.
It took me two years to get my champion red b***h from Patti because she wanted to make sure she sold me the best possible specimen of the breed.
I am sure the only reason you did not receive the AKC papers is because you were not going to keep the dog because you want a replacement so no point in sending the papers.

I have spent 30 years breeding and correctly placing the best puppies I could possibly produce. In my small (1-3 litter a year) breeding program I have tried to add new blood by acquiring only the best young foundation animals I could afford. I have seen the good (couldnt get it), the bad (outright thieves), and the ugly (dogs with problems so bad that I gave them awayone costing me $3,500!). Never did one of these breeders stand behind their guarantee. Most could hardly be contacted after the sale!
Patti Sherfy only knew me by my one phone message, containing precisely what I was looking for. After her return call and much discussion, she said she had what I needed, custom picked by her just for my program and goals!
You cant imagine the joy I have experienced since getting my 5 month old foundation b***h from Patti this July, 2009! My apricot puppy is everything I wanted: perfect conformation, soundness, gait, color, size and attitude. She has many of the unusual good qualities which are disappearing in todays show Toy Poodles: length of neck, open shoulder, drive from behind, up-on-leg and real athleticism. I finally found a breeder who sold me just what I asked for: a phenotypically gorgeous champion sired b***h with the genotype to producea pedigree of proven broodbitch linestop and bottom!
Patti Sherfy, after 60 years of dedicated breed improvement, still takes the time to read her customers; placing puppies as correctly as possible, a skill just as important to her success as her lifelong breeding goals.

I purchased a male poodle puppy from Sherfame Ranch, owner Patti Sherfy, in 2006. He is all that she said it would be: a top quality dog from a champion line of poodles, intelligent, sound in mind and body.
He arrived in a timely manner with all of his papers. This included a guarantee against life threatening contagious diseases and the right to return the poodle for a replacement, if or when available- if the poodle was found to be defective. We also received his certified pedigree and the AKC papers were forwarded to us.
We took him to our own Vet 2 days after his arrival. Our Vet also confirmed that we had a physically sound dog. In the two years he has been with us our vet continues to remind us how fortunate we were to get a quality poodle with beautiful conformation and temperament.
Patti is known in the breeding word for her quality show dogs and her upright work ethics.
I have written Patti several times during the two years to let her know of our poodle's progress. She has also communicated through letters and phone calls.
Patti is most concerned about her dogs and the family's who love them.

1 year later. I finally got the dogs registration papers in October 2008. After I contacted AKC concerning the matter. The papers came in "Limited", for a $1,500.00 dog. I mailed them to AKC to keep on record but did not register him. I neutered him in November of 2008. Patti said that she would return my money if I sent the proof of neuter, which I did. Guess what, now she refuses to do so. What a crook!
