I got hired with Shomax. They bring you into a nice high rise building so they look professional. The owner/manager is a slick looking gentleman from Jamaica who will be nice to you at first. I went through the interview process and got hired on. They put me into a training class. The whole time talking about this being a training program for managers representing Fortune 100 companies. First off its not that glamourous. You are selling Directv at Costco. The "supervisors" are a bunch of ghetto looking, very unprofessional young kids from California. They talk with slang and smell like pot. When I was being trained. I was told to lie to customers and do whatever it takes to get a sale. Tell customers that Directv has channels that it doesnt, that dishes can see though trees, whatever it takes. I was not comfortable with that. When I went to ask the owner about this, he wasnt there. He was running another office in California, trying to sucker people in there. If those are the kind of people that Shomax is trying to hire and put into management positions. I dont want any part of it. This was such a bad exerience. When I called about getting a paycheck for training, they told me you dont get paid until after training is over and that most people are doing internships working solely off commission. I got a sale in the Costco, when I asked if i was going to get paid for that sale, they said they have no record of the sale happening. The trainer told me to call it under someone else. They now dodge my calls and pretend they dont know who I am. This is a scam company, trying to get people to work for them so they can sit back and make money and not pay people. Very shady... Stear clear of Shomax!!!!!!!! Unless you want to get screwed like me and others have.
