I have never used this company, nor know anyone who has, so I can not say anything positive or negative. It sounds like a lot of trouble, and a very expensive service to me. I used Match.com, and had a very good experience with it. I met my current g/f from the site, and we have been in a relationship for over a year now. Now I know Match does not use the "background check", but I had the chance to go out on several dates, and with some very smart women. Most of them we would meet in a public place, so therefore, I did not know where they lived, and also they did not have to ride with me. My g/f was the smartest of all, we met at a public place, and instead of a date, we agreed to have a 30 minute meeting to get to know each other, and if we felt like there was nothing there, then we could leave with no strings attached. I was a member for a total of 9 months, and it cost me a little over $100 for that whole time, and it was well worth it.

From what I have read here, it seems like many of you have been pressured into joining the Single's Station the very night you come in for an "interview." If this is the case, then the response that "Mark" made about their background checks cannot be at all true. It takes at least 2 business days to get a background check done, and the person has to sign a waiver stating that they do not mind if the company does a background check. I know someone who does background checks, and there are solid rules. If they are pressuring you into signing something the very day that they bring you in, then chances are they are not doing the background check. If they don't return money to unsatisfied customer, it is highly doubtful that they return money if the person happens to have a criminal background days later. And what if they have already set that person up on dates. Sometimes it takes 3-5 days to get a background check back! Think about it people. They are not doing what they promise.

I am the corporate controller for the Singles Station. This member did not give her name, but I believe it to be a member named Cindy. Cindy joined our service a little over a year ago. She enrolled for 12 introductions. We matched Cindy three times with the first two weeks of being a member. We did not want her to run through her 12 introducton too fast, so we added 12 additional introductions free of charge. When Cindy joined we waived the charge for her background check. We try to work within our clients budget so we waived the $99 fee. Waiving the fee does not mean that we don't do a background check. We perform a background check on every client. It simply means we did not charge her for it. Cindy has had 13 member approved introductions since joining our service. A member approved introduction means that both parties heard about one another and decided they would like to meet. After both partied have approved, it is up to them to meet. Our records indicate that she has only met four of her 13 member approved introductions. In addition to her 13 member approved introductions, she has had an additional 6 potential matches that she has declined or that have declined to meet her. Three months into her membership, Cindy requested that we inform her potential matches that she has lizards, a snake, a scorpion, a tarantula, a sugar glider, dogs, cats, and birds. Since that time she has had several potential matches decline to meet her due to the number of animals she has. Cindy was on hold for one month in October of 2006 and for more than four months starting in March of 2007. Her 13 member approved introductions have been made in the remaining 11 months. We have certainly provided an adequate number of introductions for the time she has been a member. There certainly has been no breach of contract. I would not expect Cindy to recommend our service at this point. I don't expect any member to recommend us until they have found success through us. I would, however, expect Cindy to talk with us about any issues she is having so we may work with her to correct any shortcomings. A matchmaking service can only provide opportunities. In this case, we have provided 13 opportunities. After the opportunity is provided, it is up to each member to make the most of these opportunities. I will encourage Cindy to call me in our corporate office in Tulsa and I will certainly work with her to help her get the most out of her membership with the Singles Station.
