When Howard made his comment about not bowing to sponsors, he was referring to not allowing sponsors to control content. If you ever listened to Howard on free radio you would know that the pressure from sponsors had been getting greater and greater. Not just his sponsors but any sponsor that worked with his stations. Sponsors were trying to dictate content by threatening the stations with withholding their advertising dollars. From the day Howard announced his move to Sirius he has always been upfront about having sponsors and commercials. The numbers are substantially smaller and commercial breaks are shorter and less frequent. I've got no complaints at all about the service, the content or the company.

When I was there, Howard's exact words were "Will We Bow To The Sponsors" giving a false sense of advertising that his show was going to become "commercial free" I was not expecting to be bombarded with ads for poker sites and p***s cremes on his show. In the street at the rally Howard Lied to his audience.

DEFINE COMMERCIAL....the advertisement says "commercial free music"...did you hear an ad for Wrigley's Speriment Gum, on there? NO...OR how about an add for the after christmas sales going on at your local mall? NO....the DJ's may talk about the music you heard, OR, we may mention a promotion WE have on the go, but on the music channels, we do NOT outsource commercials. Anotherwords, we DO NOT sell our airtime for other merchants to advertise on our music channels. Therefore, we ARE NOT false advertising. In defination, a commercial is where one sells airtime slots to advertise a product to sell to make money, which, we don't do.

#4--As far as commercial free radio goes Sirius does not in any way shape or form say thet all their channels are commercial free.Once again if you had botherd to read or investigate the product you were about to spend 700.00 on you would have known that it is only the music channels that sirius claims are comercila free-(100% comercial free music)watch a comercial and maybe you would know this(pardon the pun) I am the original author of this post, and would like to add that I myself was in NYC on Dec. 16, 2005 for the Stern rally. One of Howard's last words that day..."Will we stand up to the sponsors?", and the response revved up by Howard himself was...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. So as far as the commercials, if anyone else was there that day, please speak up now.

I too, have had multiple problems with customer service. I have logged at least 2+ hours of cell minutes calling them, being put on hold, transferred, having to tell the same story over and over, being hung up on... I have emailed, only to receive a generic reply that addresses an item I did not even purchase. Telling me to call them!!!! Arrrghhh. I do not care if this is a separate division from Sirius. They represent them. My order was very simple, it was not for an out of stock item, and still they could not handle it. I finally had to do a dispute with my credit card company. Sirius customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Get it to gether Siruis. I hope someone in management reads these.

I love my Sirius Satellite radio system. We have it in all of our cars and in the house. I have never had a lick of trouble with the radios or with the customer service. I also bought it to listen to Howard Stern. Anyone who listened to Howard before his move to satellite knows that there were at least 31 minutes of commercials per hour. If the gang needs to get up & use the restroom for 3-5 minutes an hour, then what is the big deal? You should have bought the radio through a reputable electronics store; then perhaps you would have an easier time with your technical problems. Sorry you have problems with Sirius. Millions of others like me are enjoying it immensley. Also, why would you blow so much money for a lifetime plan? The website states the "lifetime" plan is for the life of your radio, not your life. Anyone with any sense knows that if you solder parts on an electronic item, you VOID ANY WARRANTY. Our radios were less than $100 apiece, and we pay less than $20 a month for the service. You should research before you make such large $ purchases. It seems silly of you to bellyache so badly about something that sounds like you own fault. Not trying to blast you, but I don't think Sirius deserves your cutting remarks.

First off let me start by saying that Sirius is not in the buisness of ripping people off. They take great strides to acomidate the customers that subscribe to their srvice. Now i would like to point out a few things about your comments #1--The Sirius Stoer is an independant company from Sirius as a whole. #2--If you had botherd to read the terms and condition that Sirius provides you would have been able to see that the transfer fee of 75.00 is not charged if the radio is under warranty and all unforseen circumstances are taken into consideration when that is not the case ie:theft, fire, flood. #3--All sirius radios do get hot that is a natural accurance with this product and does not interfear with the day to day operation of the radio. #4--As far as commercial free radio goes Sirius does not in any way shape or form say thet all their channels are commercial free.Once again if you had botherd to read or investigate the product you were about to spend 700.00 on you would have known that it is only the music channels that sirius claims are comercila free-(100% comercial free music)watch a comercial and maybe you would know this(pardon the pun) So my advise to you and everybody else that is going to invest that kind of cash in any product is to know what you are getting before you purchase any product or service. It will save you and the poor customer service rep that has to listen to you(by the way they dont make the rules they follow them)alot of headaches in the future. sickpuppy
