SJVC San Joaquin Valley College $13,000 and no degree to show for it! Internet
It all sounds charming to finish a degree in less time then you would at a community college or university. Don't let those words fool you like it did me!If you do not finish your courses in the time frame they give, you will not receive your degree. Communication is not very well with your advisor. They are usually last to know what is going on or have no control.
I was on a leave of absence due to having 3 vertebre removed. I could not complete my clinicals so I was put on hold. My advisor called me the other day asking if I was ready to start my clinicals. I told him it was set up for me to start this following Monday. I also spoke to my career advisor and it was all set up. Monday morning before I leave, I check my school email. Itwas telling me I had been terminated from the college because I hadn't met SAR (Student Academic Requirements). After speaking to the dean, I was told that I had not met 67% of my requirements and had not completed the courses by the date. Granted I was on a leave of absense and have a doctors excuse stating I was not allowed to drive during the healing of my surgery. My advice...find a local college. It may take awhile longer, but in the long run, it will pay off!
