skynet is a ripoff for someone to get you to accept calling plans and they make it so hard to reach them for question you cant access customer service because i refuse to activate this calling plan which you have to do from your phone only.but they also make no mention of when and how long it will take you to get your mastercard.by the way your supposeing to get after accepting one of their call card plans its a total ripoff.

From my understanding of the complaint, it seems that Meredith feels she was misled. I would like to take this opportunity clarify any misunderstandings. I will assume for the sake of argument that Meredith placed her order for SkyNET services online and will highlight the following points of the offer that she responded to: 1) The free SkyNET Advantage MasterCard is offered to new patrons who agree to subscribe to any one of 5 SkyNET VoIP Long Distance calling plans for at least 12 consecutive months. This is a special promotion intended to reward customers who agree to stay with SkyNET for at least a year. This is stated clearly in the Terms of the offer which are required to be reviewed before the submit order button will work. 2) The SkyNET ATM Advantage MasterCard is also available as a separate item. If Meredith would like only the card without subscribing to any of SkyNET's calling plans, she could simply order it for only $49.95. 3) It is true that a call must be made from the home phone number listed by the applicant to activate the account. This is to insure that the applicant is the person in charge of, and responsible for, the phone number they listed as theirs. This first call simply confirms the integrity of the information submitted to us with the order. This process prevents fraudulent orders and makes identity theft difficult if not impossible. We feel that our application/order form is clear and concise. Anyone may cancel their order by simply contacting SkyNET via the e-mail address or toll free phone number they receive in their "Welcome To SkyNET" e-mail which everyone receives immediately after submitting their application. If Meredith had contacted us and stated she did not want our services, we would have cancelled her order immediately. Meredith, It is very unfortunate that your introduction to SkyNET was not a pleasant one. The fact that you were unable to reach our Customer Support staff is puzzling.
