I hired Soft Touch Moving and Storage to help make my relocation from New York to Indiana an easier one. I received an original quote of $1,025 which was suitable to my budget. I was aware of the fact that it was a quote and the price would vary once they loaded the truck.

On the day of the move they loaded up my belongings. The cost of packaging for my larger items was suppose to be included but was not and that was added on the balance. At the end of the loading process, I received my total and it was almost $1,000 more than the original quote. I explained to them that the measurements of my furniture was provided and I thought that the original quote was a fair one. 

I was informed verbally that my belongings would arrive within five days but saw that the contract stated between 15 and 30 days. No longer wanting to deal with the headache I agreed to the time limit that was given on the written contract.

It is now day 43 and I have not received my belongings. They are suppose to deliver them today but are still expecting the remainder of the balance even though they have not fulfilled the terms of the contract on their part. They informed me that they would not be able to unload my belongings until they received the rest of the payment.

Our items were finally delivered by Soft Touch Moving and storage on day 43. Upon delivery there was a paper that was left by the truck driver stating that our items took up 250 cubic feet but we were in fact charged for 330 cubic feet. At $4.50 a cubic foot thats almost $400 that we were overcharged. In addition to this, we are missing one box that contains my daughter's belongings. She is 5 years old and has collected toys such as Littlest Pet Shop items for 2 years and some of those items are discontinued and could no longer be replaced. I contacted the company and the owner was very rude to me once again. I told him that I was only interested in finding my daughter's missing items and that the contract states that I have nine months to retrieve my missing items. The owner told me he would not help me as a retaliation for submitting a rip-off report and didn't care what was lost and it wasn't his problem. He then hung up the phone on me. I proceeded to call numerous times and pleaded with them to help me get my lost items, even if my family in NY had to pick them up and mail them to me. The owner continuously hung up the phone on me. I have left messages in hopes of someone else returning my calls but no such luck
