Bradenton,#2Consumer Suggestion

Keep in mind that you were buying a 14 year old car. You stated that you took it for a 5 minute test drive. That is totally insuffcient. Next time you find a used car that you really want, DEMAND a Carfax report BEFORE you buy. It's money well spent. It will tell you if the car has ever had a major accident, been flooded, how many owners, etc.. Buying a used car is tricky, and should never be done under any circumstances without someone knowledgeable being present. Sounds like they took you for a ride, and that is unfortunate. But, that is what these types of used car dealerships do. They screw people for a living. I assume that this was a Buy here pay here in house financing deal, right? They are the worst. That down payment you made more than covered what they had in it altogether. If your son would have shut it down as soon as the oil pressure gauge dropped/or oil light came on, the engine would not be ruined. That really isnt the age/type of car you want to put a young inexperienced driver in. Just my opinion.
