Staples Bait and switch Framingham Massachusetts
On Monday, October 8th, 2007, I recieved an email from staples advertising an Acer 19" LCD Monitor for $139.98. The Model # was X191WSD. The ad stated that the offer was only available online.
The Email was dated "Mon, 8 Oct 2007 14:29:50 -0400". I attempted to make the purchase on Monday, Oct 8, 2007 @ 11:30 AM.
I immediately followed the link to staples where I found that it said they were sold out. The ad did not offer any chance to order, but stated that the offer expired on Oct 13, 2007.
I emailed the company, but did not get a response.

Bait and Switch is different. That is when they offer something for sale, but when you try and buy it they say they are out of stock. They then go into the poor quality of the sale item and then offer you a different item for a higher price. In your case you went to order it and it was out of stock. You have to remember that you were not the only one who was sent the e-mail, it was sent to thousands of other people. The odds are that there were a lot of people who got the e-mail before you and bought the monitor even before you got the e-mail.
