I had a similar, if not exact, experience as many others. I ordered a pair of shoes, paying, fortunately with Paypal. I used my Paypal credit card not cash Paypal funds. I received an order confirmation but no shipping notice. When I checked my account on the website it said 'in progress'. I waited a bit longer than decided to contact them. I discovered there was neither a phone# or actual email address. You could email them through a contact box on the website. I did contact them, with no response.
Finally, I called Paypal and disputed the charge. Paypal would not let me simply cancel the order with a charge-back. Paypal said I had to give the seller a chance to respond and that it could take 4-6 weeks for my dispute to fully resolve. I then went back to the website and through the Contact box told them I had contacted Paypal and that I was cancelling the order and did not want the items shipped.
I then googled Star Clothing and found the many reports against them here at Ripoff Report. I copied a link to the most recent report, which was someone who also had paid with Paypal. I then went to my Paypal account and went into the Dispute section. They had an option to up the Dispute to a Claim. I chose that option and told Paypal that I still had not heard from the company and that I, in fact, had found many complaints against them as a fraud. I pasted the link to Ripoff Report in my Claim report. Paypal responded with an email agreeing to change the Dispute to a Claim. One week later I received a letter from the Paypal credit card stating that they had credited back my purchase price.
Not surprisingly, I never heard from Star Clothing at all nor did I receive any merchandise. The individual name included in the email from Paypal was Deng Qian Yi - no such name is associated with the website. I do not know if this company is based out of the US or not.
Of course, the big lesson is when you have a company you are not familiar with, google before you buy. I am also very glad that I used Paypal and that my credit card info was not directly available to this scam. I am sure the speedy resolution of my own case was because I included the link to the Ripoff Report claim.
