(KUTV) The solar panels aren't doing Bill and Cathryn Felt much good. The panels are sitting in their garage rather than catching the sun's rays on their roof. The Utah company they hired to install the panels delivered them, then vanished.Bill and Cathryn say they have been trying for the better part of a year to get in touch with someone from Going Solar Utah to get them to either return to install the panels or refund part of the $13,000 they paid.

Bill says the company has stopped returning his calls.  "We're out a lot of money on this, every single month, and it hurts us."Public records show that Going Solar Utah does business under several names including RMW Solar and AAA Going Green. According to those records, each company is owned by the same person: Waylon Windrow.

Calls from Get Gephardt to Windrow went unreturned. The address for RMW Solar's registered agent is a home in Sandy, Utah. When we knocked a man who answered the door said Windrow was an acquaintance of his son's and never had permission to list his home as the business address from any of his solar companies.

He claimed he did not know how Windrow could be contacted saying he believed Windrow had moved to Alaska.Their business dealings with Going Solar Utah and Windrow has all left Bill and Cathryn desperate for money. Cathryn says she has been forced to go back to work to cover the expense of the solar panels that remain uninstalled in their garage.

To avoid being ripped off by a business in Utah, the Utah division of consumer protection says consumers should always do business with a registered business. Doing so protects consumers, they say, because if something does go wrong, the division can investigate and compel a company to make it right.

Bill and Catheryn have filed a complaint with the division. Division spokesperson Jennifer Bolton said she could not confirm if an investigation was underway into Going Solar Utah. No action that would be considered a public record has been taken against the solar company, she says.

First, lets clear out some false information so we can all get our money back. Refer to the photo below I got this from another person who was ripped off by going solar utah. This is a court document stating the release of Jared from a court case at the end of 2014. I actually attended this case to get more insight. Aparently, Jared sold the company to Waylon Windrow.

So, when I purchased a 5 watt system they had a structural engineer come out to our house to test the roof and make sure it could hold the solar system. Going Solar Utah then filed for a building permit for the solar. They also delivered solar panels to our house. Then the company was sold and our install never hapened.

This situation once looking at the events we could tell that Jared was performing as promised to us. The company was sold and our install never hapened. I too was thinking that Jared was behind this, but that is not the case at all.

Back to the court case. The case was very quick and straight to the point. The plaintif just went off on BELIEFS and no facts. Which is exactly the same way I was approaching the matter. I am glad I went to this court case because it saved me a lot of wasted time and money. I wanted to save everyone else the same time and money by sharing this.

So I have finally filed a small claims against going solar utah owned by waylon windrow. Has anyone had any success against waylon and going solar utah?

I am yet anouther person Starkweather ripped off with his solar panel scam. I had the same unfortunate experiance with "going solar utah". They stole 13K from me and are hiding behind fake businesses and help from his attorny father. Do not be mistaken, these stories are true and anyone defending him on this site are likely related to him or benefitting from it somehow. If anyone knows where to find his friend/business partner Waylon Windrow please let me know. He is the fall guy for Starkweathers laatest scam. 

I am trying to get additional evidence against Jared Starkweather.  I currently have enough for my own lawsuit, however, I am also going to file criminal charges of theft by deception which comes with a 1-15 year prison sentence.  Please contact the support on this site and allow them give you my e-mail address.   If your case is similar it would add a second case and potentially put Jared away for 30 years.

Vanessa is Vanessa Horst now married to Jared Michael Starkweather.  She was one of the other persons arrested for theft in his prior crimes.

I purchased an insulation machine from Jared M. Starkweather through eBay.  After paying for it in full, Jared Starkweather informed me that he no longer has the insulation machine.  I have filed a criminal police complaint and a fraud complaint with PayPal.

Turns out that Jared's sister is named Vanessa. Is there are connection???

I wish Jared has changed, but he ripped me off thousands of dollars. I entered a contract with him to have solar panels installed. The company that he owned was Goingsolarutah.  I was introduced to it through amazonlocal. I purchased a voucher and then paid him to procure the panels. He of course did nothing. He hides his address. He plays shell games with his business. He is a liar and a cheat who rips off honest, hardworking people. He may have been an eagle scout and a missionary at one time. But he has transformed himself into a parasite who sucks the life of others--August 2014.

I do not believe this information to be true. I think someone has way too much time on their hands. The person who wrote this is a fool. I personally know the accussed person in this rip off report. He may have gotten into trouble once but he has worked is way out of it and it a great man. Very honest and would never do anything to hurt his name again. He is an eagle scout and a returned LDS missionary. He got into the wrong crowd when he was in his early 20's and made a mistake but he has since learned from it and turned is life back to how it was before the wrong group of friends. Just because the person who wrote this report read an article on google doesn't mean this individual was trying to scout out his home. I can't believe people anymore!!! I am so sick and tired and people making things up and jumping to conclusions. StarMac was a honest company while they were in business.
