Stone Mountain's Carpet Mill Outlet This company deserves to go out of business! Fort Walton Beach Florida
We recently purchased over $1,000 worth of laminate flooring from this company. The installation was over $950.00 (an independent installer hired by Stone Mountain).
We refused to pay the installer, I mean when you spend this kind of money for someone else (professional) to install, you expect the job to be done right.
First of all many joints (middle of floor) were not tight and they filled the gaps with white caulk. Many areas of the wood did not go under door jams, etc., which the installer fillled in these areas with white caulk. Some of the transistion pieces were pieced together (with sometimes up to 3 different colors cut and pieced in). The transistion pieces did not even go far enough to go under the baseboard. You guessed it! They filled it with white caulk. Caulking was everywhere.
Upon meeting with the store manager - he did not seem to think there was any reason we should pay the installer. He said maybe a few things needed to be fixed, but he saw no real problem. He also told my husband that we would be responsible for the repairs of THEIR problem.
We're not sure what recourse we have at this point, but I at least want to let other consumers know NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY.
