Miriam Novello & Her Husband

Were suppose to be a legit catering and wedding service company. My fiancee found them on the internet. My Fiancee wanted a beach wedding so we saw their pictures on the internet and scheduling a meeting with her Miriam and her husband. We meet with them theY were vere cocky and outspoken but we decided to go with them. We did not feel comfortable with giving them a deposit that day. They wanted $500.00.  Later my fiancee got a call from Miram and she said that she had people wanting our date so she must get the deposit now. The deposited went up from $500.00 to $1000.00 . My fiancee paid it on OCT. 9TH 2013.

I asked my fiancee why did it change she did not know. I told her dont worry it will just come of the whole wedding price. During the next few conversation my fiancee had with Miriam prices kept changing verbal from the cost of The DJ to other services. The prices were much higher than Sugarbug internet advertised.

My fiancee her mother & sister &  wedding cordinator set up a meeting with Miriam to do a food tasting and get these prices under control. She wanted around $10,000 for some of the services that we wanted. That was super high we thought. So the traveled by to Gulf Shores from Georgia to meet with Miriam once again. This time my fiancee  looked into other places before she met with Miriam. Places like flowers shops, Cateres and other Dj's & Chair companies.

Miriam was charging us 3 times the amount that the other companies were. When my fiancee met with Miriam she said that she did not want any other services from Miriam what could she do for the $1000.00.  My fiancee pick out a few thing and she said she could do the few things for $1000.00. We said fine. Later we got an email from Miriam saying that she could not do the few services for the $1000.00 it would be a cost of at least $1500.00.  This got us checking Sugarbug out more closely. We then found out that she was evicted from her other location for being behind on rent. So we then looked into her business license and found out that when we gave Miriam a deposit she was not even legally able to do business. Sugarbug had no license. It exspired in Sept 2013 we gave her a deopsit on Oct 2013.  Also we found this out in Dec 2013

when we checked. As of Dec 1st Sugarbug received a citation for not renewing their license. Therefore, the date reservation contract/credit card authorization form we signed on Oct. 9th is non-binding, null and void because Sugarbug were not and currently are not legally authorized to provide services in this business.  We were very surprised by our findings and are very unhappy with her company and feel that we have been taken advantage of and deceived by Miriam of Sugarbug.

At this point, we requested a full refund based on the fact that they have illegally entered into a contract with us and accepted our $1000.00 deposit.   Sugarbug  did not and have not provided any services nor are they legally allowed to and continuing to keep our money which amounts to fraud.  We have requested that they refund our full deposit via Certified Cashiers’ check by January 15, 2014.   Our desire is to resolve this matter with Sugarbug quickly and move on to planning our special day.   However, we have consulted with legal counsel and are prepared to take legal action if necessary.  To this day they still have not refunded our money. We are taken legal actions against them.. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!!
