After working at my current place of employ and paying Short Term Disability Premiums for 2 years, I became disabled by mental illness, namely PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder with anxious distress and psychotic features as of 11/11/2017. After exhausting my own personal leave and sick leave, I filed a claim with Sun Life for Short Term Disability. Affter they took over 3 months to review my claim, they then denied me stating that my submitted documentation does not support "Total Disability." If being homebound with doctor's orders to not work for 6 months is not "Total Disability," then I don't know what is short of laying in the grave. What is most troubling is that I am not alone.
