SUNSTATE DESIGNS - Homeguard ripoff Nightmare on Bates Street ST PETERBURG FLORIDA
On about December 11 2005 A rep. Paul Kirt from Sunstate designs AKA Homeguard came out to our home in Plant City Fl and talked to us about the painting of our home. Because we have bad credit our credid did not pass for one of their financing, we said we would try to get financing our self which we did not get. Mr kirk seculded us anyways.
The Nightmare really began then on December . Two men came out and just started perssure washing our home,, ha ha ha '' after borring a water hose and ladder from our neighbor.
The two men never introduced themselves to me. kept asking me what they was suppose to do. they then told me that 5 of my windows needed fixed. THey then told me that they couldnt get ahold of anyone at "Sunstate designs" so they would fix the windows for $10. a peice on their own with materials they would get from the company.
They then pressure washed my home.,,, not protecting any of my flowers small trees or anything in their path. I was so Mad. i called and complained,, Was told by a Mr Ken Patrick that those two men were fired,, big joke that was.
The next day when Sunstate designs came out there were Three men one of the ones from the day before and two others. They begin to paint our home with a pre coat again borring things from our neighbor. ANd again they covered nothing.
My son was home, his 2003 red sunfire sitting in the driveway. was covered in white specks. when we sais something they were going to try to take it off by pouring paint thinner on the car. I threw a fit. No way was i going to let them do even more damage than they had done alredy.
By this time it was beginning to be a little cooler than normal. They kept right on painting, It even started to rain and they wanted to paint. My husband said no way.
In the mean time no financing has been arranged. They are still trying to paint.
They were supposed to paint trim ouroung our window seals. But they half did the job. the trom on the edge of the roof was not even completed, they just stoped in mid line. Looks horriable, a 2year old could do a better job.
When they finialy finished one of the painters rang my doorbell and demanded I give him a check for almost $5000.00. I told him he was crazy that it was supposed to be financed for $75. a mounth. and I was not giving him anything.
To say the least my home looks very bad.,, Not to mention my yard where they cleaned up nothing not ever the old paint that they took off my house,, its now all over my lawn.
Now two mounth latter they come knocking at our door wanting us to sign a inhouse finiceing aggrement that they wrote up. wanting me to pay at first $490.00 a mounth then it droped to $243. a mounth.. I dont know whrer to go from here. if there is someone that can help me please help us.

These folks signed a contract to have the work done on their home. They were unable to get typical financing for the work so the comapny agreed to carry the paper in-house, because they wanted the work done. When the work was finished they signed a Completion Certifcate on which THEY rated the job as "Excellent". They even signed a promissory note with their home as security, that's how much they liked what they got. They then never made the first or any payments. Repeated attempts to get them to pay their bills met with no money being paid by them. Then to get out of ALL their bills, they filed a Bankruptcy in Federal court. They tried to get out of their bill with us and others, but the Judge said they had to pay everyone off that they truly owed, including SunState Designs. They did not keep up their payments to the Federal court trustee so the judge kicked out their bankruptcy. They went back to court to get it reinstated. Again, they failed to make their payments to the federal court, again the court kicked them out. What they are trying to do with Riipoof report is lie, and create difficulty for a company that sold them a product, delivered and installed it, got an excellent rating, and they just want to cheat the company out of what it earnd. All of the bankruptcy information is public information, anyone can verify what we have said. They are the not telling you the truth, just trying to duck their responsibility. How about if they pay their bills.

After 15 days from the day Sunstate designs started painting our home it is Pealing in several places it is so uneven that it makes me ferious every time i go out side. they said they would fix the problem,, but so far nothing,, except for them comeing out one nite about 8pm and taking some kind of sample. All they keep wanting is for us to do some kind of in house financing. so that they can get their money and we can keep the shotty paint job
