I've had a similar experience. I was told I HAD to have the extended warranty or I wouldn't get approved for financing.....and this vehicle already had the Lifetime warranty Suntrup was advertising. So...what's the point? I refused the GAP Insurance they tried to put on my loan as well.
I too was never shown the numbers on paper where I could haggle the sticker price down. They tried distraction techniques to keep me from asking too many questions about the numbers.
Shady shady deals there!!!! I ended up NOT getting this car financed and only because when the finance company called me a week later to verify our terms, I asked lots of questions and found out that I in fact did NOT need an extended warranty....the denied the loan and I returned the car. I'm still waiting on my $2000 downpayment to be refunded to me though. I'm giving it a few more days then I'm filing a complaint at the Prosecuting attorney's office.
Thanks for your report...I know I'm not crazy now- even though they tried to make me feel like I was :)
