If you are a foreigner moving to Spain, do not use the internet/landline/TV provider Telefonica/Movistar. Once you join, they will make it impossible to leave. They insist on taking the monthly bill from your bank account, but they will continue to charge you after you want to terminate your service. They charged me more than 700 dollars and continue to bill me a year after I terminated my service. In total, it must have taken me 5 hours over the phone to ensure the service was terminated. Many Spaniards have had similar complaints about Telefonica overcharging them. Their Customer Service phone line is awful and hence the difficulties in cancelling your service.
Their competition is a company called (((competitor's name redacted))), which is cheaper, provides better service, and a even better internet line.
