Texas Transmission is a kindergarden preschool scrupulous mechanic shop that is not bbb acredited. Why does Texas Transmission only ask for cash? Why does Texas Transmission in San Antonio ask for a retainer of $250.00? Why do they not have a professional website? Why does Texas Transmission want to hurry up and grab your cash and get you through the door? Why does Texas Transmission have the owner of the company working on transmissions greased up an unable to shake your hand?

This company according to research was purchased 3-4 years ago. After recently placing a newly rebuilt 350 V-8 in my car, the transmission partially went out. On the way to Texas Transmission one of the very well known and respected towing services in San Antonio  told me that he knew the owner because it was purchased by a friend of him. He told me not to take it there because of horrer stories he encountered by those that went to the "meat shop", he said.

A note was left on the dash board asking them to respectfully leave everything i.e "expensive audio system" alone as well as not "race" the engine.

As soon as the owner read the note his "HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE EGO" got the best of him and he became irate and began arguing with me. He asked me, "was the note intended for him?" As if the two sentence note wasn't intended for anyone else but him. He got defensive and said we're a family company and we don't steal peoples stuff. The note never implied that he steals. I told him that I own a very reputable business and if someone left a note in car that I was working on I count it as an opportunity to prove once again that I do good work. I asked him, if my wife was babysitting your child, wouldn't you have a list for her? Well, my car is like your kid...

He keeps the car overnight runs several tests didn't know what he was talking about and didn't know what he was doing. He told me the total could run from $1,500 - 2,200 and that I would have to pay in cash. I said that would not be a problem. He keeps the car another night and calls me back and tells me he can't fix the transmission and for me to come pick up the car!!!!!!!! As you can see this has been a very tempestuous ordeal and I will never again refer business that works like a kindergarden.

The moral of this true story is not to be deceived by a few web forums that have a couple of good ratings on a company like Texas Transmission. Make sure the company is registered with the http://www.bbb.org

This story does have a good ending, my vehicle was picked up by Mr. Transmission in San Antonio Texas free of charge, diagnosed and the problem was a result of an electronic related issue cost total under $800.00 I'm recommending them because of their honesty and integrity-Neil & Danny did a very good job and is highly recommended. According to my research Mr. Transmission has been in business for over 15 years and has an AAA+ rating with the better business bureau. The reputable transmission repair shop is located off of 1560 Austin HWY San Antonio TX 78218
