Nursing Program Advisor did not fully understood the rules and regulations of International Students living here in the US with a student visa. I was told that The College Network accepts international students as well as Excelsior College. Everytime I met with this Program Advisor I kept asking him if everything was ok and that there won't be a problem with my status here in the US.

I signed the contract and agreement with the loan to be paid every month for 5 years. The Program Advisor said that there was no problem and that the College Network gave him the approval to accept me in the online program. I was excited to begin the program.

I contacted Henderson State University (HSU) to see how the transfer process of my SEVIS documents were to Excelsior College. HSU stated I needed an acceptance letter and a transfer document form from HSU to the Excelsiors college. When I contacted Excelsior College they said that they don't handle students with Student Visa.

They don't assist international students with student visas. I was not told of this. My Program Advisor did not acknowledge this information before I signed the contract.

This means I needed to be in the Philippines to be able to finish the online class, because I am given a deadline from HSU that they needed transfer documents at a certain date or else I would be deported if I didn't. Under the Immigration rules, International students living here in the US with student visas are not allowed to take only online classes. I made my program advisor aware of this and he said that there was nothing wrong with this.

I called the college network and told them that my program advisor did not fully inform me of this. There is a reason why I got a Student Visa to finish school here in the US, not in the Philippines. I called them to cancel my subscription and they denied my request.

Excelsior College will accept me in the Nursing Program but they won't assist me with my Visa status, therefore I won't approve of this, because my program advisor did not know how to deal with students with my status. Now I am stuck with a loan and a program that is of no benefit for me. All I wanted was to cancel my subscription and they won't even though I was misinformed the whole time.

They are holding me because I signed the contract even though it was the Program Advisors fault for not informing me of all this information. As a program advisor and dealing with international students he should have known all the information a student should know even when applying with Excelsior College.

But this person did not tell me everything and I had to find out on my own and when I did it was too late. I spoke to this program advisor and told him but he was not interested in listening to what I have to say. He refused to allow me to enlighten him of my situation.

He was after my signature on the contract. Every time I emailed him he does not reply. He apologized for his incompetence but I still need to cancel this contract!
