Complaint Review: The Pink Plumber - Nationwide

Called and scheduled an appointment with The Pink Plumber basedvon the $195 Septic Pump out they are promoting. To the employees credit, he confirmed that the $195 coupon is a gimmick to get them onsite, and then use RIDICULOUS tactics to tack on as much additional costs as possible. They do this because they (the employees) are compensated on commissions they receive on these add-on charges. 

However, after realizing what they were doing, I called two family members and had them on speaker phone. I went outside and told the plumber that I did not want any additional services, just the pump out, and explained that my wife's wallet was stolen, and I only had enough cash on hand to cover the original service of $195. I had my two family members on the phone and they heard the whole conversation. However, instead of stopping where I asked they continued on...I guess they felt that getting their extra compensation or commission was worth lying.

Here is an example of TWO add-on services:

They have a service called "hydro blasting" (give something a cool name and it must be real!!! Right?) All this process does is sprays water from your hose into a smaller hose they have on the truck, which is fed down the leach pipe of your septic system. Then they say..."look at this...water is pouring back into your tank from the leach field)! Your system is not working the way it should. We will also need to pump your leach field... So stopped him there and since I was onto their scam, I asked how much this Hydro Blasting would be...? $585.00!!!! What??? It is literally your yard hose being stuck down a pipe...Nothing but dirty water came out!!!

The next one was the "T Baffle" they destroy the one built into your septic system (made from the original concrete casing) and install a 6x6 inch PVC T connector, onto 18" inches of straight PVC. That is it!!! Guess what this one costs...$495.00 

OK... Now a $200.00 service has made it all the way up over $2000.00+ Again, remember I had already told the employees that I only had cash for the original $200 service and not to perform any additional services, and had my two witnesses on the phone... Well they decided to charge me for all of those ridiculous add-ons, anyway, and then tried to get me to sign up for their payment plan...NO WAY!!! I again discussed what I asked for and what they continued to do without my permission...I was given a line of crap about how they cannot leave the system is a non functioning status... Of course that was just a straight out lie, and at that point I told the plumber he can take the cash for the service I agreed to, or I can write him a check...he took the check!

Needless to say they were given numerous opportunities to do the right thing, and to be honest. By the end I had already figured out the Pink Plumber is a new name for Aames, which had so many BBB complaints against them, they had to change the name of the business. The owners of this business are in California, and they have no daily oversight, they have simply devised a scheme that puts the plumber in the position of being less than honest to make a living. It is not they employees I plan to take down, but the owners and management. Oh and I have also started looking into exactly how much they donate to Breast Cancer research as they like to claim on their advertising. That is why The Pink Plumber should have picked their enemies a little better, owning a private investigations company as I do... Well this is just going to be fun for me!!!
