Do You Know This Man? He Collected A Security Deposit for an apartment he then ran an ad for 7 days later...Signed lease with rent with move in delayed for 28 days...still ran ad to rent it 7 days afterwards. His name is Tim Chaney..When called to confirm move in, she was told, he was going to rent it out and she should cut her losses on the $600 Security Deposit...Dude has many properties in Dallas Texas...Have you rented from him? Did you get SCAMMED? Share...he won't answer his phone..took the money from a SINGLE MOM with 2 KIDS..CAN YOU SAY DIRTBAG? FRAUD?

THESE ARE SOME OF THE PROPERTIES HE ADVERTISES...THE DUPLEX WAS PUT BACK ON THE MARKET 7 DAYS AFTER SIGNING LEASE AND COLLECTING $600 DEPOSIT. SUPPOSED TO HOLD UNTIL MOVE IN ON 1ST OF SEPTEMBER. 

AND IS SLUMLORD..ALL HOUSES ARE CRAP.

Contact the police. If you have a written lease and he would not allow you to move in per the lease terms, (like your post states), then file a report and take him to small claims court.

Did you meet this landlord or did you do this through the US mail?

Or worse yet, did he have you wire the funds Western Union or pay off a reloadable card?

If you paid through Western Union or off a reloadable card, then this is most likely a scam.

These rent scams are popular right now right someone claims to be an owner/landlord/agent yet can't show you the property because he is out of town or otherwise not available. It is one of the signs of a rent scam. The property may or may not be real. For sure you aren't dealing with the actual owner if the property can't be seen.

Same thing if it is an agent. If the 'real estate agent' doesn't show you the property or asks for money up front in a personal name - run away and don't provide the money, its a scam. These scammers scrape the photos and some info off various website to lure you into sending them money without seeing the property and then they dissappear.
