Time Warner Cable DVR is a ripoff and false pricing advertisement scam!!! Nationwide
Time Warner Cable has nice little commercials and advertisements for their new DVR (Digital Video Recorder) box along with a whole channel of their cable service dedicated to a nonstop infommercial saying it is $6.95 a month.
So I went up to their location nearest me since it sounded like a good deal and found out it is actually $6.95 a month for the recording service of the DVR PLUS another $7.00 a month for renting out the box itself, what a joke!
So be aware that if you are thinking of getting this that it is indeed $13.95 a month and not the advertised price of $6.95 that they so nicely and falsely put everywhere, I think they can shove it.

The advertisement you saw was advertising a service. The equipment is extra. We use the same commercials nationwide for the most part. What you should know is that BOTH cable and satellite use this same technique to keep the number that flashes before the customer's eyes as low as possible. But you should also know that with TWC, you only have to pay for the service once and can share the service with as many pieces of equipment as you feel like. With satellite, you usually have to pay for the service on each piece of equipment. So, for a household with multiple televisions, cable is usually the better buy. The preceeding contained my personal comments and is not endorsed by TWC in any manner.
