Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was called by a salesman to look at a car they got in on trade, a 1997 Cadillac. I drove the car and went to the sales office and bickered on the price. As soon as I said I wanted to sleep on it the salesman ran off and got the sales manager who worked on me.

Finally I agreed, (worst mistake of my life) and purchased the car for $15,990. They took my old car on trade for $2000.00 trade allowance and I gave them a check for $6000.00.

That night I knew I screwed up and did not want the car, too flashy and I didn't want payments for 4 years. The next day I went down to the dealership and asked if I could return the car.

They said no, it's yours now but you may trade it in on something else. I agreed as I felt obligated now. They said they would give me $14,500 trade in on the Cadillac and I signed the offer sheet. I lost about $1500.00 but a price I knew I had to pay for my own mistake.

I selected a 1999 Plymouth Neon with 48,000 miles on it for $10,700. I signed the contract and took the car home when I went to the Matson web site and seen the exact same car for $6800.00! They overcharged me some $3900.00! I went back and complained, they really didn't want to change it but finally did to the advertised price of $6800.00. I signed the contract and THEN noticed they changed the trade in value on the Cadillac without my knowledge to $11,650 instead of the $14,500

that was agreed upon! I complained and they said well it's too late you signed the contract! I just paid $15,990 for the car less than 24 hours ago.

They knew they ripped me off as I could see the smirks on the few salesman that knew about it. I asked if I could buy my old car back that they gave me $2000.00 on trade and they said yes, for $2700.00!

So this is what I got for two checks I wrote for $8700.00, $2283.00 credit towards the Neon, and my old car back. I STILL have 30 payments of $165.00 a month!

I called Tom Matson Jr to voice my complaints and he asked what did I want him to do for me. I said write a check for the difference $2850.00 from what I was shorted on my trade in that was agreed upon. He said quote "you got to be kidding".

So since then I have contacted BBB, the Atorney General's office and wrote letters to Tom Matson Jr, Tom Matson Sr, and Jay Miller the sales manager and haven't heard a peep from any of them as they knew they gave me the shaft and they are not man enough to make things right. I also contacted NADA who wanted to know what dealer this was as they violated the NADA code of ethicsand gave me some guidelines to follow.

I will wait another 30 days before proceeding to my next step. I won't give up or quit until a settlement is made.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!
