Toshiba America ran a promo last summer (2009) offering a free upgrade to Windows 7 on a qualifying purchase of a Toshiba laptop.  Of course the retailers did not push that point.  I purchased a Satellite L550 Laptop in August 2009 at  Office Max.   It has  Vista Home Premium...,THUS....I Qualify  for the  Windows 7 Upgrade (per their advertisement and literature). As of this writing (Feb 15, 2010), I have yet to receive it and heard hundreds of other have had the same problem (just do a search on Toshiba not honoring upgrade).  I have applied online, e-mailed, called CS, faxed, and mailed the required documents, yet  no response.  Toshiba wouldn't even let me enter the S/N # again into the systems stating it was already registered, yet the CS person says they do not have me in the system ! Talk about the Dog chasing its tail.   They have somne Bozo outsourcing company called  Arvato Digital Services (Valencia, CA) handling this upgrade. It doesn't matter as Toshiba is responsible for all their outsourcing vendors. I guess they hope we just fade away.   Well . This  calls for a Class Action Lawsuit.  I have a Lawyer warming up in the Bull Pen.  All who got screwed like me and are interested JUST e-mail me.

The windows 7 upgrade for my satellite L505 was approved in October, yet was never delivered.  DHL claims it was undeliverable due to a missing apartment number and the package is at their distribution center.  When I try to track the package, toshiba is showing the correct address.  I have more than a dozen emails to "customer service" and most replies state it's already been delivered. Laptop support 800-457-7777 was no help, but customer relations at 888-800-6841 took my phone # and said they were sending a notice to Arvato to contact me.  We'll see what happens, but I don't have high hopes.  I'm definitely interested in hearing more about a possible class action suit.  pls email with details, thanks
