Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

They took my money & sent me the wrong transmission!! I went online to the Transmission Specialist's website & ordered a rebuilt transmission & torque converter. I was asked to pay upfront with an e-check, which I did. The money was withdrawn from my account almost immediately. I won't get into all the in between details about the back & forth issues of where to have it shipped & how much extra it was going to cost me (even though his website states free shipping) & how long it took to actually get the transmission, I will just state my MAJOR complaint of this place & how they conduct "business".

I picked up the long awaited transmission (after an almost 2 hr. drive to the shipping center I was told it had to be sent to in order to avoid a costly shipping fee), & it was installed. My vehicle still was not starting up right or shifting correctly. I had figured out by this point, & made the assumption that trying to negotiate a fix to this issue was going to be pointless & time consuming considering the hassle I already went through just to get it, & then to have it not work when I finally did get it. I just did not feel they were a business that could be trusted anymore. At this point, so much of my time, money & patience had already been lost due to my main work vehicle being down,  I needed to expedite an immediate fix to this problem & & take it to a real transmission specialist that was local & had credentials & references that proved trust worthy. The place where I chose to take it has a great reputation for excellent work & phenomenal customer service.

I was told by the new transmission professional (& even shown) the transmission that was shipped to me from Transmission Specialist, was the WRONG transmission for my vehicle!!!  Not only that.....but it was also missing a key component from the center of the transmission. It was never going to work in my vehicle, nor any vehicle for that matter, since it was missing a main part! I ended up having to pay this new shop to remove the faulty transmission & had to buy an entirely new transmission to be installed.

After I picked up my vehicle (& the faulty transmission), it ran perfectly. I contacted JR & gave him the benefit of the doubt, after all mistakes do happen, I told him everything I had just been through & all the additional money I had to spend to correct his mistake & get my vehicle running again.  His response to me was "you voided the warranty be not shipping the core back to us, & you voided your warranty when you had someone else work on it, our warranty states all work is to be done only by us."  I told him I was never told anything about the warranty, nor was I sent any paper work on it, I even went online to search for this "warranty" he kept referring to & it says "you must request the warranty".  So I did, he never sent it to me & his only idea to rectify this situation was for me to pay to have it shipped back to him & he would inspect it to see for himself if there ever really was anything wrong with it. I asked him to come up with another solution because he had already proven he was not trustworthy.  He then flat out told me "a refund is NOT going to happen, & as far as he was concerned this was a closed matter.

So there you have it, he was perfectly ok with sending me the wrong transmission that was built incorrectly & refused to be a stand up man & own his mistake & give me my hard earned money back.  I googled & did some research & found SEVERAL complaints, reports, & bad reviews on this place, I have no idea how they are still in business. My guess is they survive solely on scamming people & ripping people off, because Lord knows they aren't relying on the income from satisfied repeat customers.  This was a hard lesson to learn, but I'm glad I learned how to spot a scammer in the future.  I hope people will do what I failed to do, which is google them first & see my report along with the others & see all the bad reviews before sending them an e-check. You can only go so far before good ol karma catches up to you though, right?
