I noticed you tipped $20 on a $180 check. In the US, especially in a place like Las Vegas, it's customary to give 20%. Remember that 3% of the sales on the check, NOT the tip, goes to the bartender, hostess and busboy (1% each). Though that extra "tax" seems extreme it could be to cover for losses such as when people don't tip according to US customs. Yes, 15% is the agreed norm at a "cheaper" restaurant but AT LEAST 18% is necessary for the waiter to actually get the 15% old school tip. No offense to foreigners but they tend to get upset with US tipping standards yet I've noticed that European countries automatically add the tip to the bill and you give extra if the servers gave great service...no complaints there. I was a server for four years before moving on to better things and noticed that foreign tippers were by far the worst. Most of them had great attitudes and were fun to talk to...but they simply didn't know how to tip. Maybe you can take note of this and pass it on to your friends...
