Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

First of all, I would like to say to the readers, that if you are looking for reliable Homeowner Insurance, it would be best to Travel Away from Travelers Insurance and seek another - more reputable - company.

From looking at 46 other negative reports, on Travelers Insurance - on this site, it is clear that policy holders are good for only one thing to Traveler's Insurance - Pay the Premium and Don't Bother Us with your Claims.

Here is what will likely happen, when you file a claim with Travelers Insurance for a Homeowner Claim.

1.) They will take some information, then send an adjustor.

2.) Unless the claim is "cut and dry", they will immediately deny the claim and make up an excuse that it is somehow the homeowner's fault.  They figure, you will just "go away."

3.) If you call them and persist, they will continue to deny your claim as you go up the chain of command.

4.) If you hire a lawyer to help you, Traveler's will hire an expensive, Fancy Atlanta Law Firm to write a letter to you and your lawyer - which will distort and twist the truth - until it appears that you are filing a fraudulent claim.

This is What Happened to Us.  The Result was that we got Nothing, as the incompetant lawyer we hired was too afraid to go after Travelers.

I guess it must have cost Travelers Insurance over $2,000 to get that law firm to write a 3 page letter of lies - denying our claim.  It goes to show you that Travelers Insurance would rather spend that money Fighting the policy holder, instead of Helping them.

Before I begin My Story, I would like to say that it is Easy for Insurance Companies, in Georgia, to Deny Claims.  Why?

Because the Georgia Commissioner of Insurance - Ralph T. Hudgens, is in the Pocket of the Insurance Companies.  The Georgia Commissioner of Insurance is an Elected Position.  The Insurance Companies Bankrolled his Election Campaign and he easily won re-election over a fine woman, named Elizabeth Johnson.

Think about this if you will!  If you were Ralph Hudgens, and Insurance Companies heavily contributed to your election campaign, Whose Side Would You Be On?  Not the Consumer.

I will write another report ont he Georgia Dept. of Insurance, but that will be for a later time.  Back to Traveler's Insurance:

MY STORY:

My husband and I bought a home a few years ago.  We hired an incompentant home inspector, who missed alot of things.  One big thing was water damage - mostly hidden in walls, ceilings and under floors.  At that time, we had a policy in force with Travelers Insurance.

When we discovered this damage, we bought this to the attention of the incompentant inspector, and he denied responsibility.

We had some contractors look at the damage, and they advised us to file a claim with our insurance.

We discovered a clause, in the insurance contract which basically states that any such damage, that is unknown to the homeowner and is hidden in walls, under floors and in ceilings is covered.

I filed a claim based upon that Georgia h*o 300 provision.  The claim was immediately denied by phone.

We made the mistake of hiring a crooked lawyer to help us.  He never showed up when the Traveler's adjustor came out, thus making it easy for them to formally deny the claim.

Since the lawyer, we hired, stole our $2,000 retainer, and was doing nothing to resolve our problems, I tried calling Traveler's - each time to seek a higher level person in the company, thinking I might get a better result.

Well, it got much worse.   I had the bad luck of speaking to a very rude and highly corporate man, named Charlie Culverhouse - in the Atlanta Claims office. I had asked to speak to the President and CEO of Travelers to make my case.

Instead of helping us, Travelers Insurance hired a large, expensive fancy Atlanta Law Firm.  The female attorney wrote a 3 page letter to my lawyer and us - basically distorting the facts of th claim and putting the blame on us.

This deceitful law firm, even went as far as to say, that We Knew About This Damage Before We Bought the House, But Got and Inurance Policy Anyway, and Filed a Claim.

As you can see, dear readers, she basically accused us of Fraud.

My stupid lawyer was too afraid to fight them.  He stole our money and we lost!

We eventually did find another insurance company and terminated our policy with Travelers, but the damage is already done.

We spent thousands of dollars to fix the damage.

ALL TRAVELERS INSURANCE HAD TO DO WAS TO REPAIRS OUR DAMAGES AND THEN SUBROGATE AGAINST THE HOME INSPECTOR AND ANY INSURANCE HE HAD.

Instead, they found it easier to deny our claim and then insult us with lies - written by them and their fancy law firm.

By the way, we did file a complaint, against Travelers Insurance, with the Georgia Insurance Commissioner, but for the reasons I mentioned above, that complaint was found to have No Merit.

I Strongly Advise People to Stay Away from Travelers Insurance.  Also to investigate the Customer Service of any insurance company they buy a policy from.

This is good advise from someone, who has been there and done that!
