This company has ended up on my Consumer Credit Report as a Hard Pull Inquiry.  I have complained numerous times to them to remove it as I never had any intention of allowing a credit check.  They have fought me on this and I am not sure why it's so important they keep it on my credit (Maybe angry I did not buy from them...which I made clear to the sales rep that day).  The sales rep came by my home and caught me outside; told me they were the ones that originally put in my alarm system and wanted to talk about my "free" upgrade.  I invited her in but emphasized we would not be buying today.  She asked for some information in order to get me the best possible price, because part of the free upgrade cost money.  I gave only my name, address, and birthdate...Nothing else.  My wife then cut the meeting short as we had to leave.  I told the rep we were done, and she was welcome to leave information, but she declined to leave information as she was apparently irate at the lack of sale.

That night, I was notified by credit monitoring that there was a hard inquiry which is rare and harsh on your credit score.  I fought the inquiry with the credit bureau and Better Business Burea.  For rebuttal documentation, Triguard responded with the "pre qualification" card which is apparently a free pass for them to cover their unethical actions.  The card says in Large letters at the top "PRE QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATION."  It does also at the bottom in TINY TINY print read "I authorize TriGuard Protection/Security Networks LLC to verify home ownership and review my consumer credit report in connection with this application for security services."  Barely readable.  No signature or even proof I filled out this card.  Did the rep fill it out for me? How is this legal?

Now, here it sits on my credit as a damaging hard pull for something I did not even want.  I can't imagine they are ethical when it comes to business.  I have also learned from a law firm that if they are ambiguous or misleading about how they present permission to pull credit; they are in violation of the FCRA.
