I am also among those who believe that Tupper Lake is the creation of the Simpsons writers when they have been on some bad drugs. Nevertheless, with these photos, and with a collective view of virtually every post by a resident of Tupper Lake---is there a school there? Either you residents of Tupper Lake have the worst grammer and spelling skills in the world, or you are using some type of tragically altered keyboards and monitors. What's the story? How about a post from some of your illustrious Board of Education Members, or how about a principal? That should really be a hoot....

I have never heard of Tupper Lake until today. I came across this by accident(I was looking up local car dealers on this site). I found some of the stories humorous, as they reminded me of many people I knew in the little town I grew up in.( You know; the one where the old ladies go to the hair shop just to hear the latest gossip, and your friends call you on Sunday morning to let you know what an a*s you made out of yourself at the bar the night before?) But when I saw the pics Richard posted, it actually made me a little sad for the residents there. It seems like such a beautiful place. And to see everything you knew go to crap and feel helpless about changing things because of what they call the "Good 'ol boys club"...... Well, I might be a little "angry" too. It's too bad though that the people there take it out on each other instead of getting together one time, all pissed off and march down to the "Club" and kick some tail! Good Luck people of Tupper Lake. Hope something happens for you soon. Upstate NY is way too d**n pretty country to let your little town go to hell.

I have to tell you. I am one of the thousands that read all about Tupper Lake, NY. I've driven through upstate NY many times on my way to Albany, and I'm afraid that one of these times, I might drive by Tupper Lake. All I read about is how horrible this town is and how deranged the people are!
I'm not here to bash anyone. I find it very sad. I was surprised to read Ed's comments about this town and extremely surprised that 4,000 people live there. I was expecting a town like Altus, Arkansas where "The Simple Life" was filmed. If this town is so bad, why would anyone want to stay there? And why in God's name would anyone move there? I think one of the reasons no one is willing to move their business in is location. One of the first things a person does is research location. How do you think this website has helped? If you go to "google.com" and type in Tupper Lake, NY, what website do you think will show up? After reading all of these reports, I would not invest a dime into this town. It doesn't have any personality except a demented one. I truly feel sorry for all of you who feel trapped there. Save some money, and get out! Its easier than you think! And don't just move to another county. Go the distance! There are cities and towns out there that are labeled as "small towns" and yes, there is gossip, but I doubt it'll be worse or equally sick as this town seems to be.
On another note, I'd like to see some more pictures of this town. Its facinating that all of this stuff goes on and no one seems to bat an eyelash. Do you live in normal conditions? I work as a chemist for an environmental testing facility and we test plenty of contaminated water. I'd say that a paper mill or some factory has dumped millions of gallons of contaminated fluids into your rivers/wells.
Here's a business opportunity: Open up a bottled water plant! But it doesn't sound like the people there would spend money on any beverage that does not contain moonshine. Feel free to correct me.
I feel sorry for all of you, especially those self-proclaimed "normal people." Normal people are willing to stay in a place that is dreary with no future goals.
Just a thought.

Here are the ruins of two more Tupper Lake Businesses destroyed by fire "The Tupper Lake Eyecare" and "Littlefield Insurance".
I am glad to see that the village finally got rid of the old Sunshine Store but d**n they need to get that mess out of there. It is not only an eyesore but very dangerous for little kids who may attempt to try to play on or near the rubbish. I hear that the village wants to put flowers and trees in the streets like in Saranac Lake, well we need to get rid of some old buildings like the Sabins Electric building and many others. Hey, whats up with the Northland? Holyshit has that place gone to hell and that needs demolishing also now. ED the previous owner maintained that building and never allowed any of his buildings to look like any of the crappy buildings that stand in the sleepy town of Tupper Lake. We have virtually NO BUSINESS in this town and all the village thinks about is a d**n museum. Where are people going to stay and eat. The only decent thing to eat is pizza! Lets face it, Tupper Lake will never be a Blue Mountain Lake or Lake Placid so lets get busy and clean up our act, the idiots running this town, lets work on bringing business here, for out children, for the people who want Tupper Lake to grow.
