Ugly Duckling Aka Drive Time ripoff Deland Florida
I brought my first car from drive time in 2003
having a 2 kids and being in school full time I needed
transportation. Drive time was more than willing to help
they told me my payments would range from 150.00 to 200.00 a month.
I was happy. I went to the lot and got a 2001 ford
focus. I received my payment books and my payments were 381.21 a month. I had no choice but to deal with it the papers were signed.
I moved out of town and about 6 months later my
ignition would not turn. I called a ford dealership who
came and towed my car (65.00)and told me they had to
replace the ignition 389.69. I called drivetime and told
them I could not make a payment they said send fax in the reciept we will defer your payments.
I started recieving rude calls threating to repo the car if I didn't pay I called the head branch in arizona who told me there was nothing in the computer about a deferment. So I was over 700.00 behind. My son had emergency surgery and the brakes went out. I told them to come get the car
They said they would. They didn't come get it for 3 months and I have a 12,000.00 repo on my credit report for a car they told me was 7,000.00 and I had
