Greetings...I recently learned about this sight and was not at all surprised to see some reports on a company called Union Financial Securities and Trust. I laughed when I opended the letter and saw a preliminary check for $4875 against a total award of $125,000 and laughed even harder when the letter stated I needed to send $2875 to cover taxes. OK in what world does $2875 cover the tax liability on $125,000? Then there is the matter of why the taxes weren't deducted from the payoff. The real kicker was the paragraph that said it was important to call before attempting to cash the check to protect against "unscrupulous acts"....as a rule only scam artists need to swear they aren't scam artists.
In any event there were so many red flags that the letter and the check went into a file in hopes that there might be an avenue to have these people prosecuted. To any who fell prey to their trick I am truely sorry.
If you receive a letter from Union Financial Securities and Trust don't get excited, just toss it...
