I have worked with universal and when you are given a job and a phone number to call the night before a job when on the phone with the production company that has the details its usualy a voicemail recording where you follow phone prompts such as option # 3 then press ext 10 then the production person gives the time for check in and the exact location and what to wear....
the only message you leave on the production co voice mail would be your check in # and name to confirm you have the details.
That is because the production company is still crossing thier T's and doting the I's on all of their last minute details. no one from the production co is going to call you it could be a job with a hundred people involved thats why the production co would use universal talent to give you a check in number and the details for that job.
if you do not show up for work when your assigned how does that reflect on the agency. what does that say about your responsiblity how bad to you want work
your story doesnt sound right they gave you a job they gave you instructions then they had to follow up with you by contact you to find out what was your side of the story.
