UPS is looking at a major discrimination charge and lawsuit here! It is illegal to deny service to someone based on the area they live in. This does not mean that if the uPS had a problem with a specific customer, they could not refuse. This would be legal. However, it is fraud to take the money from the shipper without intent to deliver. The shipper should have been notified that they do not deliver to that specific address. But UPS making the decision to exclude from delivery after shipping has been paid for is a major problem. They cannot legally refuse to deliver to a demographic area based on race, religion, etc. I would pursue this with a major lawsuit. I think Target may back you on this, and you may want to make an appointment with their legal staff. After all, the decision of UPS has cost them actual losses and possibly a customer.

I thought Ft Lauderdale FL was in the US not in the United States Minor Outlying Islands. Maybe that has something to do with your problems with UPS. Heck, I didn't even know what the United Ustates Outlying Islands were until I looked them up. They gave a run down of what they are and where they. The only other time I've seen them referenced is that guy here, who goes off about walmart in FL.

George, It might be because you live in the "United States Minor Outlying Islands". That could cause a UPS ground delivery problem! Anyway, kidding aside, just file a police report for the 2 counts of theft of your merchandise by UPS. Also, contact the US Justice Dept for the discrimination issue. Good luck. PS. Stay off the phone, and only communicate by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records.

Your post seems pretty good. MS Word found a few minor issues but it seems to be a fairly coherent and documented complaint. Maybe UPS has had problems with other people in your area, or with someone with a name similar to yours. Or someone at UPS "has some problems". I am a paleface living in a nice neighboorhood that is "not far from town" but this place is a bit tricky to find. Which is why I like it. Every now and then UPS cannot deliver because the driver "claimed that there is no such address". I call, they say the driver was new, I provide directions, and all is well in the UPS-World until the next time. Other that getting help from UPS Corporate I do not know what you can do. File a discrimination complaint?
