THe company mentioned above is not ripping you off, just not giving good customer service. As to charging you for rodding the line as a starting point and then charging you to jet the line is common because the technician had to start somewhere. Obviously YOUR problem was more severe than average and the lower cost start, electric rodding, was not sufficient. THere was no way for the technician to know this beforehand. As to the cost of the drain cleaning product that he was selling, well it's all just percentages. I mean how much mark up do you have on beverages in your restaurant? The equipment is stuck in YOUR malfuntioning drain that had problems before the technician arrived. I don't think that they should charge you for the time on the machine being stuck, but instead to cut the hose and retrieve it when it is a better time for both of you.
