Us Magazine Service Periodicals scammed me and trying to ruin my credit Lolo Montana
I received a call from them 12/03/06. They claimed they were from a company that i already get magazines from. And told me i won magazines, and if i would like to get renewals of the magazines i was already receiving.
Reluctantly, i asked them to send me information and that i would look into it when i had time. They were very pushy, and not very clear about what they were offering. They claimed they needed my credit card number, to be able to send that information.And an option to cancel before any orders went out.
mind you, i thought i was dealing with publishers.
I received a letter telling me i won a watch and i was entered into a grand prize.I also received a bill, five magazines with 3 to 4 year subscriptions. For 16.60 per month, or 16 payment of $49.81. which seemed outrages. Now realizing it is not publishers, call to cancel for 3 days and when i did get them, They refused to cancel saying i made a verbal agreement.
Since that time they have charged my credit card several times, with no help from the credit card company, i cancelled that card, and had to get a new one. this was back in jan/feb. I cancelled verbally and writen. but they do not listen, so in march i sent there bill back to them telling them it was cancelled,again. now it is nov, i received a collections notice from a company for six hundred and something dollars, from us magazine sevice. I told them i refuse to pay.
With all my frustrations, i went on the web and found this ripoff report site.
So here i am, hopeless but not alone.
